Kennel name: Heritage Achilles. Laddie is an independent thinker and smart as a whip, but very biddable. He has learned so many things without even being taught, where we want our livestock and when. He is an adaptive, easy to get along with dog, who is high energy, happiest when he has a job. When dealing with strangers, Laddie is friendly and ready for pets. However he also has a sense for when his humans are wary of guest, and behaves accordingly, much more standoffish. He is confident with other dogs and livestock. Laddie has proven himself to be a true gentleman with our girls, and his offspring. He is a happy healthy dog who desires to be around us as much as possible.

Working Description: Laddie works with our larger livestock. He is a work-minded herding dog, with strong drive and an abundance of natural instinct. He is upright, strong-eyed and tenacious. He is more vocal with his driving skills, especially when frustrated or challenged, and won't back down from our more foul-tempered livestock. He always has our backs and defends against unruly livestock during moves or feeding. He has a definite OTSC "off-switch" and is content to sleep beside us when not being asked to work. On his off time Laddie enjoys playing fetch in the yard or a game of chase with other dogs.
