Montana first and foremost is a loving companion and guardian to our 3, young, outdoor loving, homeschooled children. She walks the perimeter of our 10 acre wooded property daily and will always accompany our children on their forest adventures, as well as stays close by them when they play closer to our actual house. We often have several children over to play and although she will greet any car with barking, if she knows we are comfortable with them, she too is comfortable. She is tolerant of babies to running children and is enjoyed even by children who typically don't care for dogs. She is responsible for the safety of our free range chickens as well. She also keeps deer from our gardens and fruit trees as well as taking out squirrels, woodchucks, moles, rabbits, and raccoons.
